Hearing Healthcare Close to Home
Meet The Team
Rebecca Hart is the oldest of five siblings so caring for others came naturally to her. Her preference for the medical field was an easy choice. Rebecca and her two sisters assisted their mother with the care of her father, a Vietnam veteran, and later caring for their mother. Her personable qualities show her compassion and enthusiasm in giving the patient excellent care and the help necessary to promote quality of life. Rebecca Hart holds an Associate Degree in Science as well as certification in office management and medical billing. She has worked in the medical field for over 20 years in medical office management, medical billing and as a Certified Medical Assistant.
Rebecca loves to spend time with friends, to read, write, listen to music and have walks on the beach. She drives to Virginia as often as possible to spend time with her two beautiful daughters Ashley and Jessie. She is blessed with four grandchildren. Her granddaughter Evie regularly reminds her of how much she is missed and says “Nanny, we know why you moved to the beach, you are secretly a mermaid and you love listening to the waves”.
Rebecca made the choice of working with Hearing Healthcare because she believes hearing is essential for the quality of day to day living. She couldn’t imagine not being able to hear the voices and laughter of her grandchildren, and of course, the waves of the ocean.
Thomas Malenfant is originally from Michigan but has resided in the Myrtle Beach area for 17 years. He was blessed with a wonderful wife, two amazing daughters, and one goofy cocker spaniel. His interest in the hearing profession was due to his good friend, who was an audiologist. They showed him what an impact that he could make to someone’s life. Having parents who are both hearing impaired, as well as himself, the hearing profession felt like a great fit. He has been a Hearing Instrument Specialist since 2011. The most rewarding part of it all to Thomas is seeing how much someone’s life can change through better hearing.
Mack Shumway has been working at Hearing Health Care as an Hearing Instrument Technician since October of 2018. Mack recently became licensed by the state of South Carolina as a Hearing Instrument Specialist and has been learning every part of the clinical process throughout his time at Hearing Health Care.
In his spare time, Mack enjoys producing music, film making, photography and also loves to learn about art and design.
