After graduating college in 1977, Jim became a pharmaceutical rep. While he liked the medical aspect of the job, he missed not having any patient contact. Almost accidentally, Jim noticed a newspaper ad for a Hearing Aid Specialist. He applied and got the job. Soon, he found out how much he loved helping people hear better. 38 years ago, most of the fittings were done in people’s homes. Jim lived in Duluth Minnesota. It wasn’t an easy task as it got down to -20 degrees at times. This was Jim’s motivation to move south. He has been in the Myrtle Beach area for almost 33 years now, and this is what he now calls home.
Hearing aids have changed dramatically in the last 30 years. Today’s hearing instruments adjust automatically to background noise and the sound quality is truly amazing. Jim finds it rewarding to have a career that changes people’s lives for the better. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
Reanna and her family moved from Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the Grand Strand back in 2010. She comes from a large family of five brothers and two sisters. Two of her brothers serve our great country as United States Marines, along with many other family members serving in other branches of the Military. Her spouse, K.C. Canterbury is a Horry County Police Officer, as well as the President of our local FOP Lodge. They welcomed their first child Levi in January of 2019. It is needless to say that at Coastal Hearing Center, we are beyond proud of our families as well as our Military and first responders that keep our families and communities safe.
Prior to finding her home at Coastal Hearing Center, Reanna worked as a nurse in North Myrtle Beach. For many years, she worked closely under the Physicians to provide the absolute best care for their patients. In addition to helping patients, she played a significant role in opening and expanding multiple offices as the practice expanded. The last several years at Coastal Hearing Center have been a wonderful experience. You could almost say Audiology found her. Reanna is a certified Hearing Instrument Specialist apprentice, and she truly loves what she does.
