Lunch and Learn

What is the Lunch and Learn program?

The Lunch and Learn program is a free event that encourages people to start thinking about their hearing health. Attendees learn about the different sides of hearing health from a Hearing Care Specialist while enjoying a free meal. After the short presentation, everyone is encouraged to sign up for a complimentary hearing assessment. There is no purchase requirement for this event. Click here to learn more!

How do I sign up for a Lunch and Learn?

To sign up for a Lunch and Learn event, go to the Lunch and Learn page on the Healthy Hearing website! As you scroll through the page, there is a section labeled “Current Participating Locations.” This is a list of each location that currently has a Lunch and Learn event planned. Click the button below the location to go to the page specifically made for that event. These update frequently, so if you do not see an option for a location near you be sure to check back!

On the location’s page, you will find event details that are specific to your location. This includes where the event is taking place, who you will meet while you are there, and the form to reserve your spot! The form is located at the bottom of the page. By filling out this form, you are reserving your spot at the event. There will be a confirmation call or email to ensure your spot is reserved for the correct date/location as some practices have multiple events that people are signing up for.

What do I need to do before the event?

Before the event, the Patient Care Coordinator for the selected location will reach out to confirm your reservation. During this confirmation, they will also ask if you have a guest that will be attending with you. We highly encourage bringing a guest who knows you well to the event because they will be able to speak to some of the ways they have seen hearing loss affect you. You do not need to make a separate reservation for them on the website.

Don’t forget to look up the event location to ensure you leave yourself enough time to get there! We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes early so you can get checked in before the event is scheduled to start.

What happens at the event?

The Hearing Care Specialist will greet you when you first arrive at the event and direct you to the sign-in table. At this table, the Patient Care Coordinator will check you in, give you a nametag, and direct you to your seat. The drink and food ordering process changes depending on the restaurant. If it is a buffet restaurant, you will get your drinks before the presentation begins. Places where a staff member takes your order will bring your drink and take your food order before the presentation begins. Your food will be brought out after the presentation to ensure that there are no interruptions. At the conclusion of the presentation, the food will be served and there will be time to ask any questions you may have that were not addressed. During this time, the Patient Care Coordinator will come around to schedule your complimentary hearing assessment.

What will the presentation be about?

This is an informational presentation about hearing health, not a sales pitch for hearing aids. The Hearing Specialist will introduce themselves, their Patient Care Coordinator, and their practice. After introductions, there will be discussions on different hearing health topics, such as the effects of untreated hearing loss.

The event is over. Now what?

Before your appointment, you will receive a phone call or an email confirming your appointment for your complimentary hearing assessment. We highly encourage you to bring someone with you to the appointment. This can be the same person who came with you to the Lunch and Learn event or someone different.
